This year I've only done it all the way once, I've used the flip top lid instead. been fab actually, its so convenient. I have a Matts Soft Tops roof though, thicker material for the clips to fix into.

I have a Matt's Soft-tops sunshade fitted between the windscreen and the centre-bar. I can happily cruise at 55mph without any nasty buffeting you usually get without one fitted. Just been out with it in the half open position.

Fold the flappy bit back on itself and tuck it under the bar before fastening it down.
Stops 90% of the flapping.

Then hook a bungee cord between the hood and a seat belt stalk or low down on the back of the seat frame to eliminate the remaining 10%, especially if you're going to exceed 50mph...

For inside closed roofs: The short end of the strap(5) must always be fastened to the frame when roof is in half open position. VERY IMPORTANT. If not, the roof can suddenly blow backwards, and in high speeds, you will probably damage the roof. The long end is more like a handle, I never fasten that end to the center pillar and experience no issues by not doing so.

I use the half open position quite often. Always in shifting weather in town traffic. Can just open or close it in seconds at a red light. Very practical! And on short trips, it's great to just open and close in seconds, when driving from store to store where the roof must be closed while the car is left at the street. But then I'm one of those who open the roof at any opportunity I get

I find the "flapping around" at half open position wary from the wind direction, the tension of the roof(adjusted at the rear) and the age of it.
When the roof was new and soft, it made more noise than it does now. After a bit of shrinking and aging, it takes more speed/wind to make it flap around. It's not a problems below 60 km/t.

If driving with the roof half open if you tuck the flappy fold of roof material back under the front bar ( ie half the length of the fold) then it won't flap and is good for up to about 60mph.

I'm going to have to take some close up shots with the hood folded halfway back. Maybe someone can point out what I am doing wrong.

I may have mentioned it but there was a driving one day and a pop-up shower happened and I scrambled to put the top up. By the time I got it up, it quit raining!

I did it again!

This morning I was coming to work and heard this flapping sound. I hastily put the hood up yesterday and forgot to pull the long strap inside the car so it was flapping against the windscreen.

What are you suppose to do with this strap with the hood up?

Just stick it underneath the front bar that pivots?

I just tuck it behind the mirror.
