Post Speedo - Swapped or Faulty Odo..
I just noticed my mileage is at 92722. Last MOT September 2015 it was at 9882 miles cos it's been round the clock.

Basically, wtf?? I don't like to accuse the guy but I did give it to a different person who I haven't used for years, to get the kingpins and MOT done. I can't think of why this has happened, unless it was swapped without me noticing.

Any chance of a fault? It's very strange and I want my real mileage back.

Have you double-checked on this site?

Just in case it's your speedo that's having histrionics...

Hi Ken. Yes I checked my mileage on the MOT site and its all normal.

It's like the first digit should be a one but it's somehow skipped to a 9. How could that possibly happen though. Still seems more likely than my speedo having been swapped though.
I think I'm going to have to just set it to where it should be.

Ian, I've known odometer mechanisms to become faulty, with the digit(s) to the left of the one which is just rolling over from 9 to 0 being 'dragged along for the ride'.
Would that explain what's happened with yours?

It must be something like that really. It reads 92722 but that should actually be 12722 I believe.

On my Mercedes I dissembled the odo & teased the numbers apart so I could adjust them to the correct mileage. (Had changed the speedo.) Can't imagine it will be too hard on the Deuche.
I'll have to do it soon before my MOT though or it will look confusing on the permanent record.
