Hi everyone
Bedouin has been stood for 2 years. Recently put my foot on the brake pedal and it went to the floor. Bought a new master cylinder (Delphi LM23519) and was dismayed when removing reservoir as both clear and green fluid came out. :o
Car is 2cv based and registered in 1978.
It has front disk brakes.
What options do I have?
Cheers

Are you suggesting that you found DOT fluid in your reservoir ?
:?

If it has discs it must be LHM normally.

Roger,
unfortunately, DOT3/4 brake fluid sinks below LHM, so will have contaminated any components in an LHM-based braking system which it has contacted.
If you're (relatively) lucky, it may only be the master cylinder which has been affected.
If any of the brakes have been bled, the calipers and/or rear wheel cylinders may need replacement seals.

ok .... forget the old master cylinder ...
Im returning the incorrect MC ....
I've ordered the correct MC for LHM

just calipers and wheel cylinders to worry about now ..... and possible the pipes in between.

See you in a field somewhere.

You will have to be quick though, as I will be the one coming in the entrance, screaming as I cross the field and making a new exit in the hedge because my brakes have failed.

I can be revived with cider.
