 Motor and gearbox conversation I got a couple of engines and gearbox's that i wanna keap for a longer period of time maybe 10 years.i wass thinking of filling the exhaust and intake holes with new gearbox oil and also the combustion chamber and filling the engine block at the top point of the oil filler unit.
Any one with some experience on this ?

Re: Motor and gearbox conversation I have often spoken to my engine and gearbox but no reply I'm afraid.  As far as conservation is concerned Oil down the bores cover all openings with oily clothes.

Re: Motor and gearbox conversation I mostly speak to my car as a whole. But words have been spoken to the engine, at special moments....
There exists "conservation oil" in spray cans. But I have used thin oil of any type, in spray can, to stop steel and aluminium to oxidize during storage. The oil need to be a bit sticky and cling well to the metal. I take out the spark plug and spray in the sylinder, and on the outside wherever I think it is necessary.
