Failed MoT. I've been advised that it can be patched up but I was wondering if in the long term it would be best to replace the complete panels as they are available.
What is involved in this for a welder? Apart from a big bill that is!

Finally got the car back with MoT. Local 2CV specialist who quoted seemed to disappear off the face of the earth so I took the car to a local welder. The consensus of opinion was to patch it up. I think they bit off more than they could chew, not being that familiar with the car. However they did what appears to be a good job and lent me a car for the couple of weeks that they took to do the job, fitting it in with other work. Not cheap, but if you want to drive a 2CV ....
Next jobs, two new rear wings and a bonnet hinge.
Cheers

At least you got it sorted. Mine were patched years ago but only the rear seat belt mount area and he did a great job so no more rust came back.
