How easy is it to change a brake cylinder?

Car is pulling to the left under braking with grinding from the right under hard braking and loosing a small amount of fluid. I presume this indicates fluid on right hand front drum?

So an easy fix?

Sam, when brake shoes have been contaminated with brake fluid, they need to be replaced, with 'best practice' requiring that the shoes on the other side are also replaced.

I usually go for the full package, so both slave cylinders as well...

Old Ami 6 or AK350 are really pain in the ass.. (The ones which drums are fixated with 4 nuts) You can't take the driveshafts of (like the newer drummers with sixs bolts/nuts) so you need to work around the driveshafts liturrally...

What I mostly do is take the the outer driveshaftout of the car

Then you can take of the drum. take the old brakeshoes out and.brakecilinder.

Put in the new shoes hook them together with the spring already, then put the handbrake on as far as you can (tighten the nut of the handbrake adjustment as far as you can).

now you can put in the new cilinder, line the shoes up to the drum and of you go...

There's added ass pain due to the chassis reservoir on the opposite side which makes me less inclined to do both (sorry Ken) :( Will see what the prognosis is tomorrow...

Please do as uncle Ken tells you;

put at least new brakeshoes on both sides;

otherwise it will never brake in a straight line...
