 Is my wheelbearing gone??????
Ok since a week my Ami starts to heavely vibrate when I'm going over 90 km/h...
So this evening I jacked up the front right tire (ofcourse the last one I jacked) and when I put it in gear and do over 80 the car starts to vibrate again...
Putting on another wheel on gives the same result; heavy vibration..
offcourse I checked the wheelnut, it is on its torq...
Taking the wheel of and doing 80 or more nothing happens; theres no vibration...
Can this be the wheelbearing or the outer driveshaft join???
If I turn the wheel by hand there are no signs of a worn wheelbearing or driveshaft..
Anybody please....
p.s. my nest step would be putting in a new wheelbearing...

 Re: Is my wheelbearing gone??????
possibly wheelbearing but you usually hear them howling. Outer UJ a possibility too
Similar on a friends car on the way to last weeks race ...his bolts on the shock mount plate were loose.

Your post reminded me of the time I called recovery and told them my alternator had gone. The response from the operator was "where's it gone?"

Sorry but I can't laugh at this moment; This evening I changed the wheelbearing (a brand new is in now) changed the complete right side driveshaft (used) and changed again the wheel for yet another and guess what..... The vibration is still there.. bugger bugger shit fuck.. So tomorrow I'm going to put in a new gearbox mount see if this helps and otherwise I will just drive with it till it fals apart....

How likely would it be to have tried with 2 damaged/splited wheels? What happens when you turn the steering wheel?
