For those that have put 8mm bolts to hold the steering arm to the hub....

Socket bolts are easy to obtain but difficult to provide a secure locking method.

Can supply M8 Hexagon head bolts which allows them to be locked with the locking tab.

Spoke to the company, bolts are imported, maybe EU or Far East.
So a thought...
How does one go about testing a 10.9 bolt?

Cut a thread that's deep enough to engage the appropriate amount of thread (6 threads according to this site, but I'd go for 10mm depth http://www.gizmology.net/nutsbolts.htm ), then torque the bolt up with your torque wrench in stages until it shears?
Maybe put a couple of washers under the head to reduce frictional losses as well.

Using the info from this site, http://www.rpmmech.com/pdf/tightening_torque.pdf , a Class 10.9 M8 x1.25 bolt should be good for 36N.m, so a 50% overload would be 54 N.m.

I tested a couple of bolts from the box of 200 flywheel bolts I'd bought some years back and they survived that test, although they had been taken somewhat beyond the elastic limit...

Would there realy be this high stress on these bolts... The steering arm is hold on its place already.. So the bolts are almost only tot secure it
....

Have come loose and broken a few off-roading, don't know about the Race cars others will have info.

During the time that I spannered for the ECAS 2CV racing team, I recall that the security of those bolts was always checked if the car ever suffered an 'off'.
More often than not, you'd find that the bolt torque was lower than it should be, as a result of heavier side loading on the steering arms.
Hardly surprising, given that bolts are primarily designed to withstand tensile loading while clamping components together, not to resist shear...

the bolts do get strained and ive seen the welded on arms crack the weld too during the 24hrs - M8 dont seem to cause any problems and mine, with no locking what so ever, have been fine despite making it to Salbris, Alacaniz and now Torun.
