Post subject:  radial clearance main bearing VISA 650

Hi There,

I'm rebuilding my Visa 650 engine, I just found out that the Main bearing on the crankshaft has quite a lot of radial play. (this is the bearing behind the gearwheel you can't take off)

I have 2 books about Visa and 2 about 2CV6, but only the Haynes of 2cv6 has something written about this, (I think, but I want to know for sure!):

Image

bearing shell diametrical clearance: 0.055-0.111 mm,

-is this the radial clearance of the (main) bearing of the crankshaft ?? in that case, my two crankshafts are still good!

-these are the values of a 2cv6, will these be the same for visa 650?

if anyone knows, or has the Haynes (or t workshop manual) at home, could you take a look and clarify this?

thnx!

In my "Vraagbaak Citroen Visa" from Mr. P.H.Olving it says: "Axial play (not adjustable) 0,07-0,14mm

Thnx foor looking up the data,

The axial play is mentioned in almost all manuals, and mine is well within specs.

My dad went to bring the cilinderheads for an overhaul, and when he picked them up he asked about the radial play for this bearing, and the guy said it was well within specs, he even asked another 'experienced' employee, and he said the same, so I have 2 good usable crankshafts!

greetzzzzzzzzz
