So I've finally taken the windscreen panel out of my 1982 car and committed to restoring it (I've taken lots of photos and will add them to its thread soon here's but a cheeky one :D)

To save on shipping - as I understand there's a surcharge on panels such as windscreen panel - I want to order all the big stuff at once. All the other panels without question on the list need ordering but I to run this one past you.

The lower most part of the bulkhead is definitely the worst part it is barely attached the passenger floor pan if at all and will push really easily where I'm pointing.

Moving over to the driver's side, that's better however there's an obvious patch but its solid but if I'm doing the car up, I'd like to improve on that a little bit if I can.

Moving to the other side there's corrosion on the N/S here.

As well as were it meets the upper bulkhead here.

No doubt there's more but until I take the tub off and have a good poke about and take a grinder to it that's all I can show. So what do we think?

I don't know what you think....
I only know what I think ....
But if you want my opinion on the lower bulk-head : Get it all out and get that replacement of Ecas , no fiddling about ! It is probably worse than you think it is , plus : it is easier to replace the whole part than to patch it up bit by bit.
Do a proper job , get it out !

Always change an entire panel if you can. It always looks a better job. Ive done a few 2cvs now but I'm nowhere near being an expert, however every single 2cv I've ever done I've looked back on and wished I'd either put ten times the effort in or spent money or time I just couldn't be arsed with at the time. Don't make the mistakes I do!

Also, I don't want to sound like a fucking bender, but refering to the bodyshell as a tub is really irritating. Until about 5 years ago nobody called it a tub. What the fuck is a tub? Bodyshell. Bodyshell. Bodyshell aaaaaaaaaargh.*

*Sorry I'm so irrational, but it really jerks me off.

Thanks guys, that was my opinion so I'll buy the whole panel. Just thought I'd check.

Nah you don't its fine but I don't know Russell maybe it's because some of the critics referred to the whole car as an upside down bathtub, maybe it's a hipster play on that or something. Personally I find 'tub' easier to type than 'bodyshell' on a lagging mobile but I'll call it a body shell from now on ;)

Nothing to add, except that i find the price a bit steep, but i suppose it'll have something to do with being RHD.

Edit after checking some other prices, apparently it doesn't have much to do with RHD, everything is substantially more expensive on your side of the sea.

I know it sucks to on this side of the channel sometimes  still at least the parts are relatively plentiful and the lower bulkhead is apparently well made.

its the jonny come lately "lets have a go at an appreciating classic and make some money", many a 2 seater sports car , kit car or VW had "tubs" and they have brought it over. EVERYONE that grew up with 2cvs and the old lags always call it the "shell" or "Bodyshell"
