Post Re: Engine identification
If it is an M28 engine, could I fit an exhaust/inlet manifold from my old AK2 engine with the PCIS 34 carb. The Output HP seems to be the same for an AK2 with PCIS 34 and the AM2A with the 26 x 35 CSIC carb ?

1981, late model M28/1 engine ( 8.5:1 CR), twin choke 26/35 CSIC carburettor (without throttle closing dashpot)?

Edit. A single choke manifold setup will fit, but best to slacken the cylinder head stud nuts to allow things to line up correctly.

Thanks Ken - heads have been taken off, so no problem with alignment there.

Is the direction of the throttle operation the same on the two carbs?

I can't say as I only have the 34 pics. Where the throttle lever pivot is above the butterfly, and opens butterfly when pushed forward. (Anti clockwise when viewed from LHS) But then, this is for a LHdrive car - Can't comment on RHD.

That's fine if it's going in a car with a rod (not cable) operated throttle.

I screwed an other home made lever pointing down to the original lever of my 34 pics, so it can be cable operated now.
