Post Engine Oil Temp
For those who have a temp guage fitted, would be interested to know the following.....
1. Max temp when driving flat out.
2. Max temp when hill climbing (big long hills)
3. Location of sensor

Pete

1&2 depend on 3 ;)
and ambient and fuel and timing

but.....shamelessley nicked from Chris on 2CVL on Yahoo
Hi Folks,

Last weekend was a little warm for a 250 Km. run, but we went anyway.
(more to come later)
Ambient temp 40C.
Speed 95 kmph,
Road, undulating black top with some big long full throttle hills,
Oil - cooking grade 20/50.
Oil temps: 102 C, rising to 104 on long hard hills.
Oil pressure 4.8 Bar
Not too bad eh:-))

Regards,
Chris Stuart
Perth, Australia

IIRC Chris uses an adaptor plate at the oil filter

sump plug ones are available and adapting a rocker cover another option but eingineering best practice would seem to rule those out as not ideal
