Hi all. I've noticed from reading umpteen threads on here that various torque figures in the haynes manual seem to be wrong in quite a few places. I've just bought my first torque wrench, so I hoped you lot might be able to give me some pointers of where the mistakes lie so that I can 'correct' my haynes in the important places.

On top of that, are there any other glaring mistakes that people know of in the haynes or other manuals? The only one i know of for sure is the spade connecter being upside-down in the points box reassembly diagram. I seem to remember Ken mentioning that the float level is wrong in Haynes also.

there were a few reprints of the Haynes over the years, the float thing was the description not matching the illustration the rotation of the castle nuts in the track rod ends the location of the clamps over the adjusting sleeve were a typo and a mis translation.

dont know if Haynes is "wrong" on the banjo bolts in the head but it was just my finding that the tread gave at that torque on used heads. Torque settings were originally in decanewton meters( in factory manual that most of it is cribed off) rounded up to Ftlbs for the UK then added as Nm later.
