Post gearbox woes
hi all. me again
my 2cv has developed a section prob
when selecting reverse and first--theres much more play on the gear lever inside than their used to be-in and out- when in neutral
its difficult to select any of those 2 gears-- 3 and 4 ok
when selecting reverse it selects a foward gear mostly
getting first is difficult as the gear stick comes out from reverse as it should but it jams up and wont go into first(bit unerving with a rangerover behind)
the rubber bushes on top of the underbonnet gearbox "stick" are ok
there arn,t any untoward noises
don,t know if anyone can thow any light on the prob :?:
cheers

Make sure the lever is properly clamped onto the splined bit on the gearbox. I've had them come undone before and it gives similar symptoms.
