hi guys , need a little help please,

check out the photo of the back of a hazard warning light switch, can anyone identify the terminals on the back, for this purpose the top left is number 1 and the bottom right number 7 if that makes any sense?

its not going into a standard 2cv loom as I has rewired it myself!

racing regards Ash

The "3" on the left ....are a changeover switch.

Used to switch the feed to the flasher unit from either the ignition (hazards off) or supply + VE (hazards on)

The "4" are 3 on/off switches (left/right/dash indicator) with a common connection.

See wiring diagram

Used a Multimeter to suss mine just recently

Hope this helps

My old H-van has a very amateurish hazard light switch - which I intend to replace and rewire. There's just a single pull-push switch and as far as I recall it has a separate flasher unit attached to it (I mean separate from the normal indicators).

I'll look out for a more modern hazard light switch - no doubt there's one sitting around somewhere in one of those dusty boxes. And if not they are only a tenner or so from ECAS. What a pity they don't fit a round hole, though.

Please excuse my extreme ignorance, but do I take it that in the upper picture posted by Taskos (and thanks very much for that), the cylindrical flasher unit will also have the normal wires connected to it, as well as the ones for the hazard switch?

And what does terminal 2 do - the one connected to the switch key (ignition?) Is it actually necessary, if terminal 3 is connected to the battery via a fuse?

[Edit - aah - just found the identification chart for Subarupete's wiring diagram - the hazard switch is the bit numbered 18 on it]

If you run a wire from the Green ["R"] terminal in Taskos' pic to a bulb and then to earth,it will give you an indicator warning light [flashes when the hazards are on too].
I used an old oil pressure warning light and removed one of the plastic blanking plugs in my Special dash to accomodate it.
OK   ......so the indicator has a "clacker"? [and a light aint strictly neccessary] :| ......but I never used to hear it 'cos ...
(a) It aint very loud [on my '88 Spesh] .
(b) I'm somewhat "hard of hearing".
(c) Being partially deaf,I have the stereo loud anyway.

kind regards
T. ;)
