My trusty 1984 special has suddenly taken on a desire to kill me.

A quick journey to drop off some grinding discs to a friend has resulted in the need for a new pair of trousers, corners on a familiar route taken significantly slower than normal just felt wrong, a certain amount of tyre howl was evident through the windows, and on one or two occasions full on drifting was encountered.

If one stamps on the brakes it likes to go sideways, with the nose to the right with a slight deviation to the right. It has however done that for a while.

I have a hunch there may be an odd noise from the rear right wheel at about 55mph but that could just be one of the strange variety of wind noises from the roof rack.

The suspension is in need of an oiling, and the rear brakes do rub and squeak slightly at times.

The road conditions were dry, and very hot.

If anyone has any ideas they would be gratefully received.

The tyres by the way are almost brand new Nanking 135s.

Check your tyre preasures, most obvious thing and often overlooked

Did the establishment which fitted the tyres also adjust the tracking, by any chance?
If they've made a poor job of it, that could be another reason for the onset of tyre squeal on corners.

The pulling to the right on braking is much more likely to be due to brake imbalance, maybe oil contamination of the near side brake pads... :(

I unlocked my boot the other day, the spindly came free of the handle and propelled by the spring it flew up and hit me in the forehead
