Post subject:  Car runs a bit uneven

Hi folks

I have this little issue with my 2CV, fitted with an engine, carburetor and gearbox of the last/newest models.

It actually runs and drives very well. Smooth tick-over, good throttle response and pulls smooth and even as long as the second stage opens in the carburetor.

The only minor problem, which I would like to do something with, if I can, is this little uneven run at certain rpm's in certain speeds, when under load.

It is worst going up hills in like 40 to 50km/h (25mph). The more rpm, the less noticeable. OR, at very low revs.
If I open the throttle so that the second stage opens, it pulls smoothly and powerful.
If I reduce the throttle, so that the car hardly accelerates, it runs smoothly also.

Would you say it's a worn carburetor or should I try different jets? What's the best jets for the best fuel-economy without the uneven run? Or is it something completely else?

Suggestions welcome :)

Sounds like mine used to be - King Ken suggests a larger primary jet than the original which should stop the lumpy running on light throttle
