 Setting up the heater controls
Any tips?
All I've done so far is poke myself and scratch myself with the control wires. How do I effectively clamp them in place so the knobs work the flappy bits?

Re: Setting up the heater controls
Patience! Seriously - you need to ensure that the cables move freely within the outer housing - the wire AND the sleeve move within the outer cover and a good dose of lubricant down the cables helps. Ensure the slider is either fully shut or open and then check where the flaps are and make sure they are fully hard up to the appropriate exit tubes. Then adjust the interlinking cable so that works in unison to the main cable and then clamp the outer cable without nipping the inner sleeve and cable.....or something like this!

Sean, I'm going to the lakes so i'm guessing I'll need a demister! Cheers Paul, my wire moves within the sleeve so I guess some lube is needed to get it moving in the outer.

Cheers Paul, my wire moves within the sleeve so I guess some lube is needed to get it moving in the outer. I usually set mine manually to fully closed (with the cables not fixed and the ends of the wires loose in the metal block ) put the lever in the fully closed left position and then tighten up the cable clamps. Up / down I've never looked at in 20yrs, but it can't be difficult! I used to use a wd40 straw to cover the exposed ends, but following a recommendation have now fixed bike cable end caps.
