Post Help ...
Hi. I need small help with my next project...

I will restore Acadiane (AYCD or Akadiane... ) . Old, rusty car came from Austria. Now, chassis is cleaned - sandblasted and on remains I cant find any chassis number on usual front right site .

Can you tell me where is the position of AYCD numbers. Maybe was not stamped directly on chassis, there is one number plate on firewall that contains chassis number... well on all car there is only one number plate.

01CD1*** number ... according to papers it is from 1978

so what is the story of AYCD identification numbers ?

Thanks in advance...

01CD1*** number & 1978 seems to fit with the information on Jeroen Cats' site.

http://www.cats-citroen.net/citroen/serialnumbers.html

Does the badge on the back end of the van read 'Dyane 6 400'? ;)

No badge on the back doors...
numbers fits on all sites that have lists of numbers...
But my problem is that I cant find informations where was numbers situated on AYCD chassis. This chassis doesnt have any stamped numbers anywhere. So maybe there was only plate on chassis or only that one that exist on firewall.
I need this information just for our authorities when we will go to MOT. So if there was no numbers originally on chassis than we have to prove that to MOT station crew.

Maybe some photos of AYCD number plates and positions from other AYCD can help us...

I have Citroen books and charts, pictures and other stuff for location of numbers and plates . But I dont have and cant find any info from Citroen original books for Acadiane.

In the usual place on the 2 Acadiane chassis I've got, one of which had just gone in the scrap bin... ;)
A replacement chassis from Citroen may not have had a number stamped onto it; perhaps the chassis you've got is one of those?
