Is it really essential? 30mph=50kph, 40mph=70kph and 60mph=100kph, that's all you need to remember innit?

Sounds right - do the speedo ends match the new piece?

One worked ok on my m'bike [650 Yam. Dragstar] ......it also made the odometer read in miles too......I took it off though 'cos it irritated me only using 60% of the speedometer dial  .

Would it not be easier to put a new back plate on the speedo in mph?

Let's just say the chances of finding a mph back plate for this speedo are EXTREMELY rare ;)

James - I can cope with remembering what speed is what, the point is to have the original kph speedo reading mph because it's cool.

I like this idea. Try it, would be cool but you'll need a bigger engine to use all of your speedo.
