I'm going to be dropping the fuel tank tomorrow to replace the rubber hose as it's perished and leaking, is there anything i need to be aware of or is it pretty straight forward? I've got a container to syphon the petrol into, but when i looked underneath the other day, i noticed the hose runs right over the rear swing arm. When the car is rocked, the pipe moves a little, is this normal or is there another route for the pipe?

Thank you. The route of the pipe shown there is different to mine. I think i'll reposition it tomorrow.

The nylon pipe should have some rubber sleeving fitted where it passes over the rear axle.
If you can free off the clips, or tie wraps, which secure the nylon pipe to the side of the chassis, that will make life easier when lowering the tank and lifting it back into position.
The connections for both fuel and electrics can be made with the tank resting on the ground underneath the car.

This was a recent chassis change 'as found', with the previous chassis change probably done by a Citroen main dealer under warranty.
I prefer to align the pipe closer to the centre, usually with a tie wrap round the axle to keep it well away from the swinging arm...

Thanks Ken, hopefully all goes well in the morning! At least now i know how it should look.

All done. The rubber hose on the tank was split. Was the original too, had the Citroen logo on it!

Forgot to add, Ken it was the sleeve over the pipe I could see moving and not the pipe itself. The route is now better and more like your picture, thank you.
