Post creeping handbrake
• problem for a local member, new to 2CV ownership:

"whilst travelling, the handbrake seems to creep on and if not noticed immediately, it then requires a lot of effort (two hands) to release"

suggestions please...

Mark,
this is the first time I've ever heard of such a problem and I'm struggling to think of what could cause it to occur.
Is there any chance you'd be able to have a look at this car and check a few things?

1. How many 'clicks' of the ratchet until the handbrake is fully 'on' and the wheels are locked?
2. Does the handbrake lever operation feel normal?

so its not in advanced chassis collapse, only other thing that causes it is when you get to the end of the ratchet so suggestion would be cable and eccentric adjustment is wayyyyy out.

Weird indeed. Can only think of gear box mount buggered allowing the it to slide sideways pulling the cable(s)

Since the connections between the handbrake 'turret' and the calipers are by cables, I doubt that relative movement between the gearbox and chassis could be the cause of this problem.

However, what about the M9 bolts securing the eccentrics?
If they're slack, the eccentrics can wander about as they please...
