Suffering from CRAFT disease? Are left and right the same?

I think they are? (same for adjusters and track rods?)

The track rod end housings as well as the levers are left and right handed.

The rod levers make sense but I can't think why the housing are.. I remember looking it up when I replaced mine but didn't actually look at the difference.

Funny you should reply Harley. Had an email from a french supplier who sold 1 track rod end housing to an Australian. He is claiming that the end housing does not fit and want to return it. The supplier is asking me but I can't remember and I'm not returning to the garage until monday.

The holes for the locking pin are in different places -can't for the life of me remember about the "hand" of the thread.

Peter,
the (pair of) holes for the split pin which locks the adjusting screw are mirror imaged, so that they will face towards the front of the car when installed.
That's the only difference between LH & RH housings for 2CVs, Dyane, AZU, etc.

If the supplier has sent out a housing for an Ami, AK350, AKS400 or Acadiane, that would be too long and also is offset/cranked away from the line of the track rod.

A longer shot, but an Ami Super housing has a larger diameter thread for connection to the track adjusting sleeve...
