France is even worse - nothing allowed on cars to change etc but then on Motorcycles anything goes as no Control Technique (MOT) for them at all so small indicators, loud exhausts etc etc and no checks EVER

Many years ago, a chassisnumber could have been stamped in by any workshop who had some tools, you then had to go show it to the customs and everything was okay. There is a big possibility of many different forms of numbers at different places, because of this way of working in the past.

Post Re: BMW 2cv engine conversion "2.0"
As you see if changed the topic name in Version 2.0

After searching the dutch fleabay for about a week I found another engine, this time with full history, license plate/number and frame number...

Yesterday I went to collect it, with my AMi 8. About 460km which costed me less then 10 euro for LPG..

The engine itself came with the complete frame (with framenumber), throttlebody's (so I can 1-2-squirt it in some time 8-) 8-) 8-) ) gearbox starter engine and some bits and pieces for the shocking amount of 200 euro's.... The frame has been given up by the owner by the RDW (yes I have a copy of that too)... So now I have a good feeling about this engine for going to the RDW...

Ofcourse this engine has been involved in an accident too, so it is useless for putting it in a
motorcycle again.. and now this is where we 2cv drivers can fill the gap..

I hope it will run long enough to get it passed the RDW... fingers crossed..

This engine is a 1200RT from 2005 with 110hp (just for the record)...
