Post Arduino Board
Hi All,
Anybody dabble with an Arduino Micro Controller?
See http://arduino.cc/en/Main/arduinoBoardUno.
Have built a CHT set up Hardware and Software, works just fine on the bench, but in the car getting spurious readings
so need some clever code to ignore the out of range values, average out the rest.

ps have good earthing clean and stable power supply 5v etc..

Post Re: Arduino Board
I have dabbled with it, used one to drive a stepper motor and do the shutter release for a time lapse rail. I was planning to build electronic ignition for my Condor using one of the chips, but I've only just started with C / C++ / Arduino so that might be a way off.

I don't really understand how all the interference under the bonnet affects everything, but I'd be happy to have a look at your code and see if I can improve it, although it sounds like you probably know more about it than me

George

I,m using thermocouples, they can be affected by emi?. It works reliably when not on the car?.
So a route maybe would be to ignore/average the values.

I will send the code,

Cheers

Post Re: Arduino Board
I was wondering if any current was being induced in the wiring between the thermocouple junction and the microcontroller, confusing it? I can't think what else would be different when it is being used in situ. Or has it been tested on a running engine outside of the car, in which case just ignore me. :P

If the results are still reasonably close though, I'm sure it would average out. Take a 10 point rolling average, say, ignoring results outside of a certain range? Anyway, I've got an arduino board not in use at the moment, so I can have a fiddle and see if I can improve it.
