Does any one know where to buy wiper blades that last for more than 6 months in French sunshine. I have tried the usual suppliers. Interesting enough, stainless ones are fitted with non stainless screws, non stainless 'black' ones rust thro the paint in just a few months.

Are you using the complete sprung blades...

...or the flat strips?

If the latter, then just buy a pair of 20"+ "normal" wiper blades, and extract the rubber from one of them. Extract the rubber from the old stainless strips. Cut the new rubber to length, and cut the one notch out. Then carefully feed it into the stainless backing.

exactly what i did toomany2cvs
i bought 2 long replacement rubbers from my local car shop here in new milton they cost £5-00 for the pack of 2 i cut one in half--

i reckon the anti freeze in the squirter bottle bu--ers the rubber

If you mean coolant/anti-freeze, for radiators, rather than screenwash, then the wiper blades are going to be the least of your problems.

Whilst talking about wipers, clean your blades with vinegar a quick wipe with a rag removes a lot of crap and the result is a better wipe and less noise/chatter ( you could try it on the wife but not recommended lol)

Good replies guys - I have the flat uns - didn't know that 'modern' wipers still did that old section - I must look harder next time.
