Post Changing of the breaking pads
Hi all,

Unfortunatelly I'm stuck with the change of the brake pads. :?
I cannot move back one of the caliper pistons.

Is there something I should try before dismantling it?

Cheers

if you can get 2 of the old pads in ( yes you can get 2 in if they are right down to the metal) and then get a big screwdriver in between the pads and lever - or lever between the old pad and the disk

NEVER lever on the piston as its soft aluminium with a Nicasil type coating and they are easily damaged

Thanks Sean for the quick tip.

I was thinking (just) of removing the pad and press on the piston itself
A big screwdriver usually means a long one which cannot fit the engine bay.
Is it a chisel allright?
Is there any lubricant I should use?

Thanks

{soft aluminium with a Nicasil type coating piston???? :o What else??? }

Taskos,
if it's difficult to push the piston back, perhaps it's time to replace the seals?
I'd suggest that after you've managed to retract that piston, you should apply the brakes, then check if that brake pad is binding.
If it is, there's no point in just throwing in another brake pad...

You're right.
I'll try it.

The pad in question was not less worn than the others but marginally more.
