Any pointers how to remove the Boot Handle / Lock ?

I took the boot lid and hinge off as the grinding noise of rust against rust every time it was opened was getting excessive. Some sanding, liberal application of Fertan, and half a can of PTFE spray latter it's now an appropriate arthritic creak. Thought I might have a go at painting the lid itself - the remains of 1985 world meet / Wessex duck stickers now not much more than stains. Can't figure out any way to get the locking tab out of its 'cage' - there must be a circlip or something but can't see it. Haynes manual silent on such issues from what I can see.

Many thanks

Thought I've answered my own question

Fiche 7 'Boot Door' of the PDF shows a circlip No22. Guess I need new glasses ?
Still can't see it - are there any other designs or am I just stupid ?

The lock is held by a small spring clip.

Any photos?

Cheers Takos
I'm at work now, will take another look tonight. Sorry didn't take any before photos - another bit of history lost forever. Now its just a faded red boot lid with some different shade patches where the stickers were.
