How did you do the diesel conversion Jono. Change of engine?

Don't mock. It's very effective if you want to drive everywhere at 30mph and leave a cloud of smoke in your wake. There's a guy on the 2CVGB forum who says he wants to convert his 602 car to 435, as he says 602 is too fast (really!). I'm going to suggest my newly-discovered easier alternative to him - it'd save him a lot of bother. :)

Is that because Janice nearly blew the engine up the other week?

Which one's Louis again? I can't keep up with your ever-changing fleet!

Rescued it from a scrap yard. 1971 vintage. Body is in great nick. Have put this on the Ami 8 chassis and rolling gear [after the Ami got crushed by the muck spreader] so its a bit of a Heinz. It will be Albatros beige with blue celeste wings [because we had those colours in stock]

P
not considering a diesel conversion though, can't think why anyone would want a diesel 2CV

Diesel rocks!

I used to have all the petrol that people had put into their diesel motors at the old garage, used to run my old Spesh on it. The one time, I used a 50/50 mix-smoked its nuts off but went like the clappers as it would start to diesel so I went everywhere at 70ish (+) at half throttle 8-)

Then it blew the one cylinder head off! Bollocks, that taught me.

I still love all my diesel cars though. ;)

So these 25 litres of petrol/diesel mix that I now have in various cans won't do any harm if I gradually use it up in my cars (I won't go for a 50/50 mix!)?
