Re: adjusting 2nd butterfly stop
Kevin,
with the engine warmed up and ticking over, back the adjusting screw for the secondary butterfly right off, blip the throttle a few times to ensure that the secondary butterfly is completely closed, then wind the adjusting screw in slowly until it starts to influence the tickover.
Now back it off until it's not affecting the tickover and you're almost done.
If you find that the secondary butterfly sticks with that setting after an overnight stop, winding the screw inwards half a turn usually sorts that out.

Is there a way of adjusting the 2nd butterfly stop with the engine running ... on the carb fitted at the moment the anti tamper cover is missing and its prone to rev too high when the engine is hot but fine when the engine is not being thrashed
