What sort of current does a 12v starter solenoid take, as I need to find a suitable push button switch for my new starter. |

If include a Relay, you could then use any sort of push button you like, even a tiny micro switch.... Relay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Auto-Auto ... 58a19795be Switch http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MICRO-SWITCH- ... 20d1809b21 |

the solenoid uses only a small amount of current, its just an electro-magnet i bought a button for £6-00 from an auto shop (the old one got water in it due to rain coming in thro the wiper spindle) |

Cheers Ajay. I didn't want a relay system, just something else to go wrong. A switch, driving a relay, driving a solenoid, driving a motor, to crank an engine seems a bit long winded. Bob |

That's why I have a pull-starter right now, plus the advantige of starting the engine from under the hood...... When showing my ignition to people, I don't need to go inside the car to start the engine.... (p.s. a DS has a pushbotton under the hood to start the electric starter) Try find one of these and your done..... |
