How much of an arse is this to replace with the engine and gearbox in situ?

Just take the body off - no need to remove the engine or gearbox :?

I managed it, so it must be a piece of piss.

Going from memory, all you need is a spanner and a trolley jack.

1. Remove bonnet and at least one of the wings, so you can get into the engine bay and work nice and close to the mount.

2. Loosen the gearbox bolts that connect to the mount.

3. Put a trolley jack under the gearbox, and carefully jack it up till the gearbox clears the mount.

4. Unbolt the old gearbox mount, and bolt on a new one.

5. Carefully lower the gearbox onto the mount, then tighten up the gearbox bolts.

6. Reassemble front of car.

Job done! Oh, don't forget to take the trolley jack out from under the car before you drive off.

Think I've remembered it right. Hopefully someone who's technically savvy will check my step-by-step and correct any inaccuracies...

An 11mm ratchet spanner makes this task even less arduous.
You probably won't be able to justify a cup of tea for a job well done... ;)
