Post subject:  Lubricating suspension cans

As the title really. Not done this for years, so what's the best method (on car) and what's the best stuff to use.

cheapest veg oil from the cheapest discount supermarket sunflower- rapeseed type stuff

as sean said, squirt it into the cans via the entry of the connecting rods
theres a gap under the rubber shrouds
i think i,m right in saying that u only need to do the 2 front ones as the oil will pass along to the rear side of the spring compartment

....hey Sean ;) .....only the best for my car matey ... ;) :lol: ....dont tell wifey though ;)

edit .....I do both ends myself [on my car] ..... allways park it on a hill [convenient,'cos I live on one] so that the oil can trickle downhill inside the can.

An small barrel oil pump is good for It. Sam still has mine. Need it back fieldmouse ;)

ayjay,
the rear ones, if your suspension is set up as it should be, nose down and tail up.

But if yours is set up so that it's difficult to see over the bonnet and the fog light digs a furrow across a camping field, best go for the front end... :lol:

I am sure you should be able to rotate the cans without jacking the car up.I stand to be corrected :) .
