 Ligarex banding / strapping
For those who don't know, this is the original metal strapping used to hold driveshaft gaiters in place.
I'm curious if this stuff is worth spending 100-plus quid to get a full kit with the pliers etc. It seems hellishly pricey, but I don't mind shelling out for decent tools if they're a good investment. Also, I doubt I'd ever have to buy it again with the 50m roll you get included.
Is it really that much better than a cable-tie?

 Re: Ligarex banding / strapping
Is that so that dangling cables don't impede a speedy exit? Also, thanks for the replies folks. I'm aware of the various options available, I was more wondering if the ligarex stuff was vastly better in some way, hence being used in the first place. My issue with cable ties is that they have a habit of snapping on me during a long journey, so by the time I reach my destination the gaiter is chewed to hell and/or my engine bay is coated in grease
