Post subject:  Lubrication tube retaining bolts?

Looking at the Haynes manual 2cv 69-1991, the bolts are shown as Crankcase, 1 hole 2 mm diameter, and the two cylinder head bolts 0.7 mm two holes?.
Looking in my box of bits that came with my engine , I have a selection of these bolts, but although both size holes are there, none of them have two holes in?
Am I missing the correct bolt, or is it possible for me to drill the extra hole myself?
If so, what position, 90 degree or 180?
If anyone can answer this , could you please email me on paul58@rock.com
Cheers
Paul

Paul,
put that drill away and stop fretting...

The banjo bolts with 2 x 0.7mm holes were replaced by ones which had a single 1mm drilling.
Check the mathematics; 2 x 0.38 sq.mm = 1 x 0.79 sq.mm, as near as dammit.

Make sure you don't mix up the 1mm type with the 2mm type when assembling your engine. ;)

Thanks Ken,
That's the problem buying a box of bits disguised as a complete car!

No problem,
Sean should be along in a while to advise you about the dangers of over-tightening ( & banjaxing) the banjo bolt threads.

yeah don't over tighten the bolts or you'll banjax (f'k up) the already partially stripped threads in the head.

Haynes torque setting for the M7 thread is the maximum the alloy can tale so if someone else has been in there before you and followed the BOL then there is probably damage already done. best go with half what Mr Coomber says, and anneal the copper washers even the new ones.
