 Flasher unit
My AZU has a 3 tab 12 volt flasher unit, the 3rd tab goes to an indicator light on the dash (No clonker fitted to the indicator switch). After fitting the unit, the indicator light on the dash would work OK when indicating left or right, but would flash erratically when belting (ha Ha) along the road. First thought was that the can wasn't earthed too good - Nah. Fixed problem when I located the can vertically and not horizontally.

 Re: Flasher unit
Duff spring in the flasher - just replace it. Its a generic component you can get anywhere.

 Re: Flasher unit
Interesting - I had the same problem as it is just resting in the space behind my ammeter.
I will bolt it vertically and see if that cures the erratic flash ( which did cause my battery to run a little low too)
