Post Alternator whine through stereo
I'm getting a whine through the stereo from the alternator. How do I suppress this?

Are you sure it's alternator-noise? Ignition-noise is often described as a "crackling noise", but it can also be more of a whining noise. I guess it depends on the radio, the car, the person ho describe it and the person being told  It's not easy describing sounds.

Anyway, I had a whining/cracling radio-noise on two cars. Got rid of it on both, by changing to "R" plugs. (resistor spark plugs)

I also find that the cheapest head-units/radios often have these problems. More expensive head-units seems to not have these problems so easily.

Solved by fitting a ground loop isolator in line between rca leads and amp. Easy and cheap... that's what I like :-)
