Usually I wouldnt be asking this. But the bodyshell of an acad isnt light! especially when there are two 'boys' lifting it.
Luckily we put it on trestles yesterday, and today i have painted the underside and rolled the painted chassis underneath:

But now we have the dilema of how the bloody hell are we going to get it down. We dont want to drop it (we did that yesterday - not fun!) Please no 'go to the gym' answers
I have thought about it long and hard but havent come up with any sensible answers.
BTW we havent got an endless supply of old tyres, if we did it would probably have been done by now!
One last point is that we either need to rotate the body or the chassis to line it all up. (so any suggestions there would be a massive help!

I have done just now! the doors were put on to protect a freshly painted floor + all the parts inside!

Call some friends and ask them for help. Give them a beer afterwards. It's the 2cv way!

Seriously, two people CAN manouvre a van shell - but it's not fun. Especially if there's some precision and adjusting needed. James Duffell & I got the AK shell off the garage floor, onto the trailer, off the trailer, into the lockup. The weight's all in the back end, but there's not much to hold on to at the front. At least on the back you've got the "bumper", which you can tie a rope around to use as a yoke for ease.

Seriously... You Need two base wider than the width of the chassis with wheels.

Than put AYCD body on that new base, roll chassis under the body and drop it first on front side and than on back side. Than you can do it only by you and one more friend as AYCD body is heavier than dyane body. Or be crazy and do it alone

Can I ask how the bloody hell you got it off in the first place??? I can do a Dyane shell on my own - standing in the centre of the roof opening and balancing on my shoulders but a van ?????

dont worry i did it! or should i say we (2 of us) did it.
With my genious we managed to put it back on to the chassis with no trouble at all!

Care to share for someone who'll bve doing the same thing in the future?
