Anyone removed this gear? I had a 2cv in with a serious knocking. It turned out the the front aluminium cage (behind the timing gear had moved 20 mm around. Someone placed the bearing wrong and clamped the 2 engine blocks together with the bearing in the wrong place. Eventually the a 20 mm long groove appeared allowing the bearing to turn and swift back. I would like to remove the timing gear but can't remember if it is possible? The crank is too good to bin Attachment: P7290600.JPG |

Yes it is possible, but I don't know how (press I guess), I know VGS in Belgium is doing that it seems that the toothwheel can be as much as 6 degrees of (from the Citroen fabric), making your engine run like crap, valvetiming is of then...... picture of there website.... camshaft without camwheel

Crank can be done too Peter. For similar reasons I got main bearings replaced by Burton on a crank the other day. |
