 Sudden fuel leak
Went to fill up my white Special today. First time I've driven it for 7 days.
Walking back to the car after paying for the fuel I noticed a fast-spreading puddle under the rear of the vehicle. Petrol was dribbling profusely from over the left-hand side of the tank, with most of it splashing down from the tank's side and some trickling off the left rear arm of the chassis. Drove home quick (only about a mile or so). The leak has now stopped - but when I press the underside of the tank, at the point where the petrol was dropping onto the floor, I hear a faint farty noise.
The weather is so cold and wet and crap this afternoon that I won't be investigating fully today, but has anyone got any idea what is going on? Like I say, the leak has stopped, but it was pissing out at an alarming rate just after filling.

 Re: Sudden fuel leak
Could be the seal to the level sensor. If stopped as tank level went down below that.

did you rim the car? Never replaced the pipe myself, so the last time it could have been done was in 1999, by Jeff Colmer. I've never rimmed the car. In fact, I didn't know you could rim a vehicle. How do you do it?

Ya best ask James, he's obviously done a bit of car rimming in his time

Neils being playing tricks Ah, I see. Yes, I did fill it to the brim - but then again I always fill it to the brim, and it's never gone all incontinent on me before. Pesky bloody old heap of junk etc.
