Ethanol in petrol.
I see that ethanol is very much in the 'News(2cvgb) and whether an old engine like in a 2cv will cope with it.
When I was over in France the week before last, I filled up with E10(just the once), but found no difference in the performance. Since returning I have found the car appears to run a little better(smoother delivery of power), but whether it is actual or just my imagining(or better quality British petrol), I can not say.
I would most likely not use it on a regular basis, or maybe every 3rd or 4th fill up, if available in the UK, due to the risk associated with corrosion. I think it's something I need to think long and hard about, because it is going to appear on forecourts in the not too distant future.
As mentioned in last months 2cvgb News, E10 is unleaded petrol with 10% ethanol added.(For those who don't know what E10 is).
Anyone else have any experience(or views) on E10 or ethanol in petrol, in general?
