One for the engineers Every time we receive fresh stock, the clutch coronas diameter changes. Before they had too much meat on the linings, preventing the clutches from working properly. I had them machined a fraction and they worked well. Attachment: P3290720.JPG The next lot of coronas are too small in diameter. It looks like that not enough lining has been fitted. I can't find any informations what the gab should be (using feeler gauges) between the drum and the lining, measured on 3 points. The drum diameter is OK Attachment: P3290723.JPG |

Hej Viking, measurement between outer edges/faces of linings is 219.1mm Inner diameter of clutch drum 219.9mm, so clearance between shoes and drum is 0.4mm Double checked by using a 0.8mm feeler gauge at one spot, with shoe assembly sitting inside drum. Brand new items in Citroen boxes, not relined/refurbished or pattern parts.  I'd guess that you've adjusted the position of the drum on the input shaft... ken |

Interested in 2cViking - when you machine the clutch, how do you stop it 'centrifuging' out of shape ? |

Just another thought, If you turn them at low revs, then in use, when they expand under centrifugal force you will loose circularity. Shouldn't you pack them out to final diameter plus a bit, then turn them to final diameter. Or am I being a bit to Nerdy ? Don't answer that one, I think I know the answer. |
