Post Carb Issue
I have had this issue since buying the car but in the past tow days (my longest runs so far) each time I try and re start the engine I have to take off the air filter and drop a spot of fuel in the carb to get the engine to fire. It starts first time after that.

Is this a leaky carb, can't see any leak but I am assuming the petrol just evaporates once it has leaked.

Anyone had this issue before.

Cheers
Ian

Used to have a similar problem in karts. Drew fuel back into it by holding my hand over the air intake on the carb and turning the engine over a few times... It may be due to fuel emptying out of the float bowl for some reason - when the kart carbs become really bad we just refurbished and cleaned them which almost always fixed the problem. They can also just drain if you don't run them for long periods but seeing as yours isn't a short period then there's probably something wrong

Bit vague I know... I'd wait for someone who knows what they are talking about!

 I tried the air filter.....

Next to open up the carb. I am assuming refurb kits are available for these - Solex 32 PICS.

it could be the accelerator pump diaphram that it split or a blockage in the tip of the jet
-- when you operate the throttle you should see a squirt of neat fuel inside the carb intake just above the throttle butterfly
this was happening on my brothers ak van
we stripped the carb, replaced the diapham and used an airline to clear a blockage in tip of the jet

I had a good look at the carb today (after fixing my lights :D ) and noticed that a lever was dangling down (see photo). So I reconnected it (where can I get a box of nuts/bolts/screws of various sizes for a 2CV) using a dodgy nut I had to hand and left it standing for the night.
This morning it started first time with no need to pour petrol down the air intake.

What does this lever do? I am hoping this is the fix.

If you want urgently I call at my local Citroen Garage as normally strange sizes like 7mm etc. If in no rush use AMI2CV or other Net options

Scooters use M7 fixings apparently. Otherwise they're quite tricky to get hold of.
