Could anyone give me details, or point me to an existing thread, on how to wire a radio and speakers into a 2CV please.

I've got a bunch of curled up spaghetti hanging down underneath the heating controller, from where the last owner (ie pre-2002) took out his own radio. I've never used this wire at all. I figured on starting again with the wiring, but I could stick with it if you think it'll be up to the job.

There are no speakers in the car. I've got a SilverCrest AM-FM CD mp3 radio and a pair of SilverCrest shallow mounting (ie 80mm depth) 3-way speakers, max music power 200w, rated power 20w.

Personally id start again, i run a decent wire from each of the batt terminals, + through a fuse either one of those in-line jobs or add a fuse to the box. Assuming you have the plug for the stereo you should have one or two + wires coming off it(red and yellow normally), one sometimes to link to the ignition if you dont want a perminant live to it. You should find your earth lead opposite. The rest are for speakers + and - front and back. Some have a remote lead (blue) which you might as well ignore unless you want subs and amps. just dont actually connect anything to the battery until you have established what goes where and its fitted properly. i dont know where you plan fitting it, i prefer under the shelf unless youve made the first water-tight 2cv!

I have mine mounted on the dash shelf in case to protect it from the one place all 2cv's seem to drip water at some time :mrgreen: As shown in this shot:-

I have removed the fitted standard plug designed for modern cars and followed the wiring diagram that came with the Kenwood radio,making he connections with chocblock screw terminals. The live supply via a fuse from the ignition,so radio is off with the ignition. The permanent live required to keep the memory is picked up from the brake light switch.
I use an internal ariel which is electronic and mounted behind the driving mirror and earthed to the fixing bolts.The live to that is fed under the screen rubber and down to the radio switch live. I have no interference at all with this setup and great reception. A plus is no holes in the bodywork :mrgreen: . I have to small speakers fitted above the centre body/door post the wiring following the frame down the side of the screen and under the felt lining.The other two larger front speakers are mounted on MDF and that is stuck with No nails to the inside of the 'A' panels buy the passenger and drivres feet,they re not in the way at all as shown in below picture
