As some of you may know, I've started an electrical overhaul of my acad - after refurbing the gauge / switch unit (the face) I've noticed that most if the bullet connectors are shagged - covered in corrosion and the heat shrink had hardened and perished to the point its all falling off. I've made the decision to go round and basically replace all the connectors one at a time, but I've noticed there are a lot or different sizes. Is this significant? Do i need to replace like-for-like or has this just been one of those random things we find on the cars? :s |

No idea but give whatever you use a smear of grease to stop corrosion |

I got some of those and the rubber bits perished and split in no time. NOT recommended at all I'm afraid. |

Viking: That seems awful pricey for a set, seeing as how you can buy all the bits for about 50 connectors off of ebay for the same price. Plus it still raises the 'which size' question. Any ideas? the actual copper wire has corrosion on it for some unknown reason  its kind of a black deposit, so the new connection betwixed the new term and the new connector is a bit duff/resistivea bit of bakers fluid cleans the corrosion on the conductor though--- crimping the new terminals on ----use a proper crimping tool , not one of those crappy scissor ones, they just squash the lug on 2 sides make sure the cable is a tight fit inside the new lug, fold it back on itself buy a proper insulation stripper too sorry about the grammer

Unless you colour code spades / bullets then youll have a nightmare. The ecas set is designed for it. Even if the things perish, touch of grease on the colour will keep it fine |
