I have a spare engine that turns over ridiculously easily with absolutely no compression whatsoever. Does this mean that the valves are stuck open? Or does it indicate something else? |

Damaged piston maybe broken rings. Is it both sides? |

Not sure, but winding the engine on the crank just makes everything whirr around, with no resistance at all. |

Place your finger on (not in) the spark plug hole, turn the engine and feel if any compression and vacuum |

+1 to 2cv viking also remove the tappitt covers to see if the valves are operating correctly |

might not have pistons in it, Ive got one like that. |

Wouldn't the rods be crashing around when u turned it over if there were no pistons...? |

Trying to diagnose it from memory. It's at the back of a tractor shed with limited access and I'm struggling to raise enthusiasm to move things and get my hands dirty. Suspect I might be suffering from Post-Christmas Lethargy Syndrome, or something equally debilitating. |

Did you see if there are spark-plugs in it!!!!!!!! otherwise you got these symptoms... Sorry just checking..... |
