Post Engine turns - but no compression
I have a spare engine that turns over ridiculously easily with absolutely no compression whatsoever. Does this mean that the valves are stuck open? Or does it indicate something else?

Damaged piston maybe broken rings. Is it both sides?

Not sure, but winding the engine on the crank just makes everything whirr around, with no resistance at all.

Place your finger on (not in) the spark plug hole, turn the engine and feel if any compression and vacuum

Trying to diagnose it from memory. It's at the back of a tractor shed with limited access and I'm struggling to raise enthusiasm to move things and get my hands dirty. Suspect I might be suffering from Post-Christmas Lethargy Syndrome, or something equally debilitating.
