Is 'thread' the correct term.

Also, what other cars can take the same filter?

Firstly it would seem unlikely that it would fit a 2cv. Secondly why would you want to.

Ah, are we talking about M4s that dont have modern type filters? Would there be somewhere to fit something like this?

I've just recovered an article from a 2003 edition of 2cvGB News where the writer fits one to his 2cv between the filter and the filter mount to enable an oil pressure and temperature switch to be fitted in the adapter. He bought one 'off the shelf' but the web link given is now broken.

I've been trying to locate oil filter adapters and mostly they're listed by thread size, hence the initial question, but have failed to find any that match the 2cv thus far.

I think this is what you're after Sam.. The filter mount is about halfway down the page :)

Are you looking to increase the oil capacity, or to fit a temperature/pressure switch?

I can't remember how much room there is between the standard filter and the chassis leg, but a lot of Citroens/Peugeots use the same oil filter fitting but vary in length and sometimes width, you would need to check what internal valves there are though.

If you're looking for somewhere to mount sensors then there's a good chance one designed for any Citroen could work.

I've only started reading about the 'more capacity' argument lately, I was more interested in dials and sensors

Not sure what's become of 2cvStuff, I'll ask Dot though.
