Post subject:  Storage question........

Given the size of my Garage, (almost 2 cars...), I need a solution that allows me to drive in, then move sideways.

I currently have the car on a set of mobile axle stands...Any issues with storing a 2cv with the suspension on full drop? Will be that way for a couple of weeks at a time.

I'm thinking that some kind of track system on rollers would be a better, more flexible option....

A sideways rolling road style thing would work.. Complex to set up but once set up easy to use...

cant see any problems with the car off the ground in fact it will stop the tyres from flatspotting, always put mine up when i had the luxury of a 3 car workshop

Thats what I'm thinking of......a pair of tracks that can be driven on to, with rollers on the underside...Maybe running on a rail, (to make moving easier....). Needs to be small rollers/wheels but with sufficient capacity for a car, probably means they will be steel....Any ideas?

Seen one off the shelf option but I daren't even enquire about the costs...... :)

yeah.......I had a set of those, It was a pain having to jack up and drop again then it was fairly difficult to move the car around, (if your floor is not perfect). So I sold them and bought these....

but, although much easier to use, I loose 6" because they won't go hard against the wall !!

A drive on drive off solution would be much easier .......

Looking for a home brew version of this

I reckon if I can find a supplier of small, steel rollers I can build something suitable for much cheapness :)

It would be relatively easy to set up.. You'd have to cut holes in the floor but v easy

How long do flat spots take to occur?
