I have always been frustrated by the clumsy method of extracting the fan off the taper. Does anyone know of a practical tool for sale that removes the fan without risking damaging it? Cheers, thanks |

Part number 1100 on link http://www.mcda.com/catalogue/show_cat. ... hicule=dy6 I use a 3/8 extension bar and move it sideways - same job and 57 euros cheaper |

I seem to remember it's possible to swap the bolt for one with a socket head and then fit a collar that retains it in place. As the bolt is undone it presses against the underside of the collar and forces the fan off. Hope that makes some sense, perhaps someone else can remember where I saw it, was it Viking? It is a more elegant solution, but personally I've never had a problem using a piece of close fitting bar, and hitting it sideways with a hammer. edit. Viking just beat me to it, but I was right. |

I always use a dab of neverseez and works as by the book. Remember to check the welding seam. |

Just put a suitable sized socket in with an extension bar and jiggle the car up and down does the trick.... |
